Job Description
Role Overview

The Patrol Deputy Sheriff is a licensed peace officer responsible for a broad range of public safety duties, including proactive patrol, emergency response, criminal investigations, and community engagement.

What You Will Do

Enforce state and local laws, respond to and investigate complaints of criminal activity, collect and preserve physical and digital evidence, and provide clear, effective testimony in criminal and civil court proceedings.

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Peace Officer by the Minnesota POST Board
  • Associate degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 2 years of experience as a sworn police officer/powers of arrest (preferred)
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license
  • Documented completion of credentialed Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
  • Successful completion of background check, psychological exam, physical fitness test, and firearms qualification
