Paving Superintendent

Coordinates and supervises the construction process on assigned projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget. Typically has one or more foremen and/or lead persons as direct reports.

What You Will Do

Ensure underground utility locates are completed and valid, and sites are safe for employees prior to performing work. Work with project managers, and oversee organization and coordination crews, subcontractors, resources, and equipment, to ensure projects remain on time and on budget.

Why It Might Be a Fit

5-10 years of experience in road, bridge, concrete construction, asphalt paving and/or related area. 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Degree in construction management, civil engineering, business, related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Valid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) a plus
• 5-10 years of experience in road, bridge, concrete construction, asphalt paving and/or related area
• 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry requirements
• Basic experience with project estimation and cost analysis
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety regulations, project plans, and related materials
• Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Experience working under pressure of deadlines
• Computer and/or mobile device experience, including use of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Android and iOS applications; ability to learn new programs related to role
• Ability to plan and organize and direct the work of others
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
• Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization, clients, vendors, and other representatives
