Role OverviewThe Payload Space Systems Project Leader will manage a bicoastal Aerospace team to provide technical recommendations and solutions to customers and contractors. The role requires 100% on-site work in Chantilly, VA, or El Segundo, CA. The team will work on payload-related hardware, including advanced electro-optical imaging sensor subsystems and their auxiliary equipment.
What You Will Do
Identify payload-related hardware issues and risks, document mitigations, and make recommendations to government customers. Serve as a principal technical representative to the customer and facilitate communications with the broader customer payload community. Lead a team of technical experts to manage and mitigate technical risks throughout the acquisition life cycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro-optics engineering and integration testing, with experience leading teams and managing technical projects. The role requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, as well as U.S. citizenship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, science, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with electro-optics engineering and/or integration testing in roles of increasing responsibility
- Willing to travel domestically (up to 1 week per month)
- Current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph
- U.S. citizenship
