Role Overview

The Payroll Administrator I is responsible for the preparation, processing, and distribution of payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of all payroll-related activities. The role collaborates with HR team members on daily departmental operations.

What You Will Do

Process payroll accurately and timely, manage employee payroll transactions, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and prepare and submit state tax filings and quarterly tax reports.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience processing multi-state payroll in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll administration, including payroll processing, balancing, internal controls, payroll taxes, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate-level Excel skills
  • Experience generating and analyzing reports
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
