Role Overview

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist takes full ownership of payroll processing and employee benefits administration, serving as the go-to for both functions across the organization. Working closely with the Senior HR Manager and the broader HR team, you'll help build the systems and consistency our team needs as we expand, ensuring every employee, at every location, has a smooth and reliable experience when it comes to their pay and their benefits.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include payroll administration, benefits administration, and general HR support. You will own end-to-end payroll processing and batch runs, manage payroll data entry, corrections, and reconciliation, and handle payroll forecasting, formulas, and reporting. You will also serve as the day-to-day administrator for employee benefits programs, own open enrollment planning and execution, and respond to employee benefits questions and troubleshoot enrollment, eligibility, and claims issues.

We are looking for a candidate with 2+ years of experience in benefits administration and 2+ years of experience in payroll processing. You should have a strong understanding of benefits compliance basics (ACA, COBRA) and high attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive employee data. Strong communication skills and ability to explain payroll and benefits clearly to employees at all levels are also required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms (Paylocity experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of benefits compliance basics (ACA, COBRA)
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive employee data
  • Strong communication skills and able to explain payroll and benefits clearly to employees at all levels
