Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for union employees, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBA’s), federal and state labor laws, and internal policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of union rules and the ability to manage complex pay structures, including union benefits and reporting requirements.

What You Will Do

Process weekly payroll for union employees, interpret and apply multiple collective bargaining agreements, partner with Operations to validate timekeeping data, process terminations, reconcile payroll reports, and maintain accurate employee records.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably with union experience, and strong knowledge of payroll taxes, certified payroll, and union reporting.

Requirements

  • BSc/BA in relevant field preferred, but not required
  • 3-4 years payroll processing experience, preferably with Union experience
  • Some Human Resources experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Vista Viewpoint is preferred
  • Good knowledge of MS Office; especially Excel
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Demonstrate an understanding of payroll taxes/certified payroll/union reporting
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
