Job Description
The PE Teacher will be responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes. The position requires a teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education and a valid teaching license. The PE Teacher will implement instructional methods, provide bulletin board and interest areas, and promote anti-vandalism programs. The position also involves maintaining accurate attendance records, communicating with parents and guardians, and participating in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of all student teaching requirements
  • Properly endorsed teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education
  • Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements
  • Knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of teaching
  • Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs
  • Ability to work effectively with pupils, parents and guardians, staff members, and community representatives
  • Skill in the application of contemporary principles and practices of teaching
