Job Description
The New York City Department of Homeless Services is seeking to hire Special Officers to work as Peace Officers within the Shelter Security Management Unit, responsible for maintaining safety and security across DHS facilities, including patrolling buildings, screening clients and visitors, and enforcing laws and facility rules.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
  • Qualification to serve as a Peace Officer by the New York State Criminal Procedure Law
  • Satisfy the training requirements established by the State of New York for Peace Officers and obtain certification
