Role Overview

The Restoration Center Certified Peer Specialist supports individuals in the Restoration Center, promoting their engagement in services, instilling hope, and helping them explore their options and gain the confidence, skills, and resources needed for their recovery and ability to live in their community of choice.

What You Will Do

Provides peer support services, both one-on-one and in groups, and staffs the Living Room, a low-barrier space where persons served can take a shower, do their laundry, utilize the computer lab, decompress, and meet with staff.

Requirements

  • Personal, first-hand experience being a recipient of the mental health system
  • Certified Peer Specialist credential strongly preferred
  • Must become a Certified Peer Specialist within one year of hire
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives
