Role OverviewThe Per Diem Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to people of all ages and their families in the Emergency Room. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care.
What You Will Do
Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaches, counsels and provides care in the emergency setting. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel.

Requires a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse, and current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and/or certification
- Ability to remain calm
- Ability to set aside personal feelings
- Knowledge of when and how to speak up
- Great time management skills
- Ability to assess and reassess patients
- Ability to perform assigned point of care testing
- Ability to administer PPD as ordered and document readings
- Ability to teach patients about NARCAN Spray administration
- Computer application skills in ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and communication skills
