Role OverviewThe Permit Specialist is responsible for managing the residential permitting process from application through permit issuance while maintaining accurate and complete house file records. This role serves as a key liaison between the company, municipalities, utility providers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure homes move efficiently through the approval and construction startup process.
What You Will Do
Prepare, submit, and track permit and license applications required for residential construction projects. Coordinate the collection of required documentation, including plot plans, surveys, soil reports, architectural plans, foundation designs, truss engineering, and other municipality-specific requirements. Track permit status and secure approvals, permits, inspections, and certificates in a timely manner.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of residential permitting experience required.
- Experience working with municipal permitting agencies, regulatory compliance, and residential construction documentation strongly preferred.
- Ability to navigate local municipalities and their permitting process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to identifying solutions and resolving issues.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess information, interpret requirements, and take appropriate action.
