Job Description
We're looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and team player Building Permit Technician to assist homeowners, contractors, or others applying for a permit with routine and technical information related to the issuance of building permits. The position requires strong customer service skills and experience with permitting type software.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED
  • Three years of general clerical experience with a minimum of two years in strong customer service
  • Knowledge of basic land development and construction permit requirements
  • Knowledge of general permit processing and procedures
  • Knowledge of County offices and functions
  • Knowledge of land development and construction terminology
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to accurately answer questions and resolve problem situations or refer to appropriate office
  • Ability to follow check lists and recognize different types of required exhibits and plans
  • Hands-on experience with desktop computer applications
  • Skilled in the use of various office equipment
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to interact effectively with others
