Job Description
We're looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and team player Building Permit Technician to assist homeowners, contractors, or others applying for a permit with routine and technical information related to the issuance of building permits. The position requires strong customer service skills and experience with permitting type software.
Requirements
High school graduation or GED
Three years of general clerical experience with a minimum of two years in strong customer service
Knowledge of basic land development and construction permit requirements
Knowledge of general permit processing and procedures
Knowledge of County offices and functions
Knowledge of land development and construction terminology
Ability to deal with the public in a professional, courteous manner
Ability to accurately answer questions and resolve problem situations or refer to appropriate office
Ability to follow check lists and recognize different types of required exhibits and plans
Hands-on experience with desktop computer applications
Skilled in the use of various office equipment
Ability to work under stressful conditions
Ability to interact effectively with others
