Role OverviewThe Personal Trainer will assist with the development and implementation of safe, enjoyable, and individually prescribed exercise programs for clients. The trainer will work with all staff to welcome, connect, support, and engage all members, guests, and staff.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Personal Trainer include designing safe, individual programs based on the needs, goals, and fitness levels of participants, providing proper instruction on form and technique, maintaining proper records and paperwork on clients, and attending staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a nationally recognized Personal Training (PT) certification, 6 months of experience in the wellness field, and the ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints. The trainer should be able to reason and define difficult problems with limited direction as to means and results, respond to emergency situations, perform rigorous physical activity, and lift and carry equipment, tools, and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months experience in the wellness field
- Nationally recognized Personal Training (PT) certification
- YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles and Foundations of Strength and Conditioning within first 6 months of employment
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check
