Role Overview

The Petroleum Inspector is responsible for ensuring equal opportunity in employment, accessing client facilities to perform sampling and quantity surveys, and collecting petrochemical samples for laboratory analysis.

The ideal candidate will receive orders, gather paperwork, report to job-sites, observe regulations, attend meetings, and represent Bureau Veritas by appearance and conduct.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED)
  • 2 – 4 years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in shore tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, and barges
  • Knowledge of company HS&E procedures and associated governmental regulations
  • Dependable, able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Demonstratable capacity to learn quickly and problem solve
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups of employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret technical reports related to chemicals and their properties
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • IFIA/TIC certification
  • Valid Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and registration
