Job Description

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Dispense & Fulfill Pharmacy, including workflow planning, staffing coordination, and time and attendance management.

Requirements

  • Manage the pharmacy technician team
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching for pharmacy technicians and support personnel
  • Create daily workflow plans
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams for the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures in the pharmacy
  • Coordinate special pharmacy projects and supervise their completion
  • Delegate tasks, workflow items, and station assignments to the pharmacy technician team across all shifts
  • Lead the pharmacy technician team effort by accomplishing related results
  • Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations
  • Attend all pharmacy team meetings as necessary
  • Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by complying with standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to strict infection-control policies and protocols
