Role OverviewCHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is an acute care facility serving the Hollywood community since 1924. This role assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution of medications under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist. The position is per diem with varied/rotating shifts.
What You Will Do
Select correct drug products from inventory to fill patient and stock orders. Prepare and compound sterile parental pharmaceuticals and chemotherapeutic agents under pharmacist supervision. Fill floor stock requests, perform order entry and billing, and handle insurance intake for ambulatory patients.
Why It Might Be a Fit
No prior experience is required, though one year of pharmacy preparation experience or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is preferred. The role requires a California Pharmacy Technician Certificate and a valid Los Angeles County Fire Card. This is a per diem position with varied shifts, offering flexibility.
Requirements
- High school graduate
- Completion of course work leading to certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Must be able to work in a union environment
- California Pharmacy Technician Certificate
- Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of employment)
