Job Description
The Pharmacy Tech Senior provides technical support to the pharmacy/healthcare professional(s) through medication preparation, delivery of medications, and cartfill exchange. Performs technical duties in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Provides direction to new/junior technicians as required.

Requirements

  • Medication Preparation: Procures, receives, prepares, packages, distributes, and disposes of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Medication Delivery: Ensures product verification by the appropriate pharmacy professional and facilitates the distribution of medications to maintain product integrity.
  • Prioritization and Triaging: Responds to customers' needs by answering phone calls, receiving and distributing messages, and triaging requests appropriately.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducts regular quality assurance inspections/audits focused on TJC/LBOP requirements.
  • Training/Education/Professional: Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Guidance: Provides guidance to new team members and junior level technicians as required.
