Role OverviewThe Pharmacy Technician under the direction of a pharmacist, delivers medications, performs unit dose activities, and assumes IV/Admixture responsibilities. The role requires minimal supervision and involves working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
What You Will Do
Fills medications and IV orders, delivers medications to patient care areas, and performs administratively assigned duties. Prepares prepackaged medications, parenteral, admixture, and extemporaneously compounds under pharmacist supervision.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality of hospital information. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for up to eight hours per day.
Requirements
- Minimum of six months previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Successful completion of on-the-job training in each area of the department
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (PA and NJ requirements)
