Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will perform advanced and complex technical duties in the dispensing areas, under the direction of a registered pharmacist. You will be responsible for preparing medication orders, scheduling intravenous admixture solutions, and assisting in maintaining adequate inventory levels. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on patient safety and quality care.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing medication orders, picking up orders and delivering medications to nursing units, scheduling intravenous admixture solutions, and assisting in maintaining adequate inventory levels. You will also be responsible for compounding dosage forms, preparing and delivering narcotics and narcotic admixtures, and conducting narcotic perpetual inventories.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA
  • Completion of NM approved training program in compounded sterile preparations within 180 days of start date
