Role OverviewCVS Health is transforming health care, and Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams to deliver operational and service excellence within retail locations. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service.
What You Will Do
Technicians support pharmacy operations by following Standard Operating Procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe prescription fulfillment. They contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, completing basic inventory activities, and remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores in the market.

Requirements
- Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly from one task to another, confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, notice and understand patients' reactions
- Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication, utilize active listening
- Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem, such as determining total number of tablets to dispense, day's supply, and/or number of full bottles and additional bottles needed to fill a prescription
- Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
- Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time, lift/scan/bag items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend hands/arms, control precision, stoop, close visual acuity, occasionally lift up to 20 lbs, frequently lift up to 10 lbs, consistently lift negligible amount, express or exchange ideas by spoken word, receive detailed information through oral communication
