What You Will Do
Fills routine orders, counts, packages and labels unit doses, interprets medical abbreviations, identifies medication orders, and ensures accurate interpretation of EPIC pharmacy labels.

Requirements
- Ability to understand the pharmacy workflow for medication returns and medication disposal
- Ability to interpret and understand medical abbreviations
- Ability to identify and differentiate different types of medication orders
- Ability to accurately interpret EPIC pharmacy labels
- Ability to recognize and identify various classifications of medications, medication names, dosage forms, and routes of administration
- Ability to use available print and online references
- Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms
- Ability to troubleshoot Pyxis equipment
- Ability to utilize technology in the pharmacy
- Ability to accurately draw up oral syringes and compound oral suspensions
- Ability to recognize regulations for repackaging medications and comply with all required labeling and documentation procedures
- Ability to answer phones, assist callers with missing medication, and respond to Pyxis stockouts in a timely manner
- Ability to process patient charges, credit and return to stock any medication not used by patients
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of all equipment and work areas
- Ability to observe and adhere to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Ability to know the laws and regulations related to controlled substances and meet expectations for handling controlled substances securely
