Role Overview

The Philanthropy Associate will assist in sustaining and strengthening fund development, stewardship, and storytelling efforts at Mountain Housing Opportunities (MHO). The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, mission-aligned professional who is attuned to detail, adept at balancing multiple priorities, motivated by opportunity, enthusiastic about data, committed to process improvement, and guided by gratitude.

What You Will Do

The Philanthropy Associate will perform gift processing, record management, data integrity, research, and stewardship. They will also write and produce fundraising-related communications, lead production of seasonal fundraising solicitations, and participate in community or regional giving campaigns.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The Philanthropy Associate will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy and other staff to investigate and document information regarding prospective funders' financial capacity, philanthropic interests, propensity to give, and relationship to MHO. They will also build trust through accountability, demonstrate compassion, and practice patience in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent career experience
  • 1-2 years progressive professional experience in data entry, administrative, or clerical work
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • High proficiency in business software applications, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • Experience working and/or volunteering in a non-profit organization setting preferred
