Role Overview

The Phlebotomist plays a vital role in delivering a safe, professional, and positive patient experience. This position is responsible for performing blood draws using proper sterile technique, processing and preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and supporting laboratory operations through specimen receiving, accessioning, and accurate data entry.

What You Will Do

Perform venipuncture using proper sterile technique and universal precautions, select appropriate venipuncture equipment and prepare collection sites using proper antiseptic techniques, monitor patient reactions during procedures and respond appropriately to anxiety, discomfort, or complications, and provide proper post-procedure care and ensure safe disposal of sharps and biohazard materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
