Job Description
Role Overview

The Physical Security Specialist ensures the design, construction, repair and maintenance of all access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems to meet physical security requirements of the Jefferson Enterprise. The incumbent receives and evaluates physical/technical security work orders and requests, investigates requests and troubleshoots problems where appropriate, establishes technical security mission priorities, coordinates with security integrator contractors; and make recommendations for necessary repairs and updates.

What You Will Do

The incumbent will oversee the work of outside contractors to ensure all work meets Jefferson's requirements and standards. The incumbent will also provide subject matter expertise related to security systems and platforms, assist with the procurement, installation, and maintenance of access control system and video management system, and design and/or oversee the work of low voltage security contractors.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The incumbent must work to obtain an accredited physical security certification within the first eighteen months from the date of hire. The incumbent will work under pressure regarding strict deadlines and project milestones, with varying work schedules that occur on an intermittent basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five years of experience working with security systems, including service and maintenance across a broad spectrum of access control, intrusion, and video surveillance systems
  • One year of experience inspecting access control and video surveillance systems
  • Basic physical security project management best practices experience regarding security systems to include service and maintenance across a broad spectrum of access control, intrusion and video surveillance systems such as, Victor, Software House, Genetec and Lenel
  • Working knowledge of low voltage systems
  • Working knowledge of network principles
