Role Overview

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. They coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff, maintaining performance activities within the department and participating in CQI activities.

Requires a Master's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy, three or more years of experience in all aspects of physical therapy, and current licensure as a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from a New York State Registered or Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) / American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Accredited Physical Therapy Program
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in all aspects of physical therapy
  • Current New York State Licensed Physical Therapist
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
  • Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong written and verbal skills
