Role Overview

As a Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider, you will work in a large Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Health, responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination for critically ill patients and their families.

What You Will Do

Diagnose and treat critically ill patients, develop and manage treatment plans, perform advanced procedures, and provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization
  • Master's degree graduate of a Master’s or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C) upon hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers upon hire
