Job Description
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides medical care and services independently and collaboratively under the direction and supervision of the assigned Injury Express Medical Director. The position involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating medical injuries and conditions, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ordering, prescribing, and administering medications.
Requirements
Assesses, diagnoses, and treats medical injuries and conditions
Provides walk-in and established injury care
Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients
Elicits medical history and conducts physical exams on patients
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and orders, performs, and interprets routine labs, X-rays, EKGs, and other related studies as required
Provides patient education and instructions on prescribed therapeutic regimens
Maintains patient records through timely documentation of all necessary information
Adheres to patient and patient data, confidentiality per OrthoIllinois' HIPAA and PHI policies
Attains Commercial Driver Medical Examiner (CDME) Certification within 90-days of start date
