Role OverviewThe Certified Physician Extender will work in collaboration with a physician to provide primary care services for ambulatory patients in the Jackson Clinic.
What You Will Do
Performs new patient, follow-up, and walk-in visits in collaboration with the primary care physician, documents patient encounters, and submits charges for all patient encounters.

Requires a graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, national certification, and previous work experience in the ambulatory care setting.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- National certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Previous work experience in the ambulatory care setting
- Current licensure as a CRNP or as a Physician Assistant in the State of Alabama
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- Self-directed and accountable for actions
