Role OverviewThe Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking an academic trauma, acute care, and critical care surgeon to join our faculty. The position will be based primarily at Rhode Island Hospital, the state’s only Level I Trauma Center and the principal teaching hospital of Brown University, with additional opportunities across Brown-affiliated hospitals.
What You Will Do
Participate in patient care activities, teaching of medical students and training of general surgery residents. Pursue basic, translational or clinical research programs pertaining to the field. Participate in national, regional, and institutional clinical research protocols at Rhode Island Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Requirements
- Board certification or eligibility in general surgery
- Specialty certification in trauma/critical care
- Strong clinical background in acute care surgery, trauma and critical care
- Have completed fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care (and/or Trauma/Acute Care Surgery)
- Demonstrate excellence in trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and critical care
- Show enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring surgical residents, fellows, and medical students
- Contribute to scholarly activity aligned with an academic surgical career
- Thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, including ICU leadership
