Job Description
Austin Industrial is hiring a Pipefitter in Bogalusa, LA. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment. This is a full-time position requiring 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience and certifications such as NCCER, TWIC, and DL.

Requirements

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment
  • Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections
  • Remove and replace worn components
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions
  • Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead
