Job Description
Job description: Pipefitter position at Austin Industrial in Plaquemine, LA. Responsibilities include laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience and is certified in NCCER, TWIC, and DL. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment
  • Install automatic controls
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids
  • Remove and replace worn components
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions
  • Operate motorized pumps
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead
