Role Overview

The Placement Specialist will work with the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) to protect and promote the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services. The specialist will be responsible for effective case management, coordinating with placement providers, and ensuring quality case practice and adherence to release conditions.

What You Will Do

The Placement Specialist will be responsible for case management, intake, case management, conferencing, school support, and monitoring services. They will also assist in the formulation of a service plan for youth, ensure that placement providers coordinate with aftercare services, and monitor the length of stay for each youth in placement.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above
