Role OverviewThe City of High Point seeks a Plan Reviewer I to perform responsible technical work enforcing the North Carolina State Building Codes. This role involves examining building plans and construction documents, performing field inspections of residential buildings, and related work under the supervision of the Plan Reviewer Supervisor.
What You Will Do
You will enforce and interpret the N.C. State Building Codes, review building plans for code compliance, inspect buildings for violations, prepare written reports, and issue notices and orders. You will also investigate complaints, research property records, and provide information to the public.

Requirements
- Associate degree in Building Construction or closely related field OR High School Diploma with 2 years of trade experience
- Must be able to qualify for a Probationary Level 1 Certificate through the NC Code Officials Qualification Board in building, electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
