Role OverviewThe Police Officer (Certified) will serve the community by providing professional law enforcement services, preserving the peace, and enhancing the quality of life for citizens, businesses, and visitors in Newnan. The officer will patrol city streets, prevent and investigate misconduct, and respond to emergencies. The Newnan Police Department is a State Certified agency and serves as a leader in the public safety community.
What You Will Do
Patrol city streets, prevent and investigate misconduct, respond to emergencies, conduct follow-up investigations, prepare cases for testimony, and accurately complete required reports and records.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will be a Georgia Basic Peace Officer Standard Training (P.O.S.T.) Certified Officer in good standing, with a valid US driver's license, and a high school diploma or GED. The officer will be required to pass a pre-employment background check, including a written basic aptitude test, physical abilities test, background investigation, psychological screening, polygraph examination, and medical physical and drug screening.
