Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Police and Public Safety Department seeks Police Officers to serve as the first line responding sworn department member for accomplishing the department’s mission and goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least twenty-one years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of Alabama
  • Before receiving APOSTC certification, candidates who do not hold an associate degree or higher must complete the Alabama Basic Skills test
  • Candidates who are not certified must obtain certification from an authorized APOSTC Academy
  • The Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) certification is required
