Role OverviewA Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
What You Will Do
Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols. Review the patient's history and verify the medical order. Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Polysomnographic Technologist is credentialed in sleep technology and able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and provide oversight of other sleep center staff.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Obtain a minimum of 10 CEC's in sleep medicine annually.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Polysomnography Technologist License.
- Registered Sleep Technologist or Registered Polysomnography Technologist Cerfication or Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorders Specialty.
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
