Role OverviewThe C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics at Stony Brook University anticipates filling one or more postdoctoral research appointments in theoretical physics. Appointments are for two years, renewable for a third year, subject to the availability of funds.
What You Will Do
Conduct research in theoretical physics, collaborate with senior and junior members of the C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics, and present seminars based on the Postdoctoral Associate's work during the academic year.

The Institute has a tradition of collaboration with the Departments of Physics and Astronomy and of Mathematics and the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook and with Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Requirements
- Completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in theoretical physics or a closely related field
- Record of independent research
- Research experience in one or more of the following subfields: topological phases of matter and their realizations on quantum devices, quantum error correction, fault-tolerant quantum computation, non-equilibrium quantum dynamics, and generalized symmetries
