Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Maulik Patel in the Department of Metabolism and Nutritional Programming at the Van Andel Institute (VAI). The Patel Lab studies fundamental aspects of mitochondrial biology using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: mitochondrial biology, genetics, C. elegans research, molecular biology, cell biology, or biochemistry.
  • Experience with protein purification, biochemical reconstitution, and/or in vitro assays (e.g., protein–DNA interactions) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute research projects.
  • Strong record of scientific productivity (e.g., first-author publications).
