Role Overview

We are looking for a Power Plant Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations team that operates, maintains, and optimizes performance of Stem's full portfolio of C&I-sited behind-the-meter (BTM) and front-of-the-meter (FTM) energy storage systems (ESS).

What You Will Do

Identify, prioritize, and troubleshoot ESS equipment and operational incidents, collaborate with Product Development Team, create KPIs, develop tools and processes, and provide timely response to all incidents.

Requirements

  • BS degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 1-3+ years' experience with systems that incorporate batteries, solar, and power conversion systems
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new systems/technical applications
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented personality, demanding high quality performance from self and colleagues
  • Basic knowledge of network communication architectures and protocols
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and Stem technical personnel in high stress situations
  • Ability to think creatively to resolve problems
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence, SQL, Python, Linux/command line, Big Data visualization, relational databases are a plus
  • Knowledge in electrical power and metering systems a plus
