Role OverviewHDR is seeking a Power Project Engineer (Substation Design) to join our Power sector in Sacramento, California. You will work on high voltage substation design projects, including physical and protection & controls design for 12 kV through 500kV projects. This role involves working independently while directing, mentoring, and supervising less-experienced EITs and Designers.
What You Will Do
You will understand physical substation design including yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and control building arrangements. You will prepare calculations for studies and reports, review project documents for conflicts, write project specifications, and coordinate the work of the power design team through schematic design and contract document phases.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
