Role OverviewAs a Power Project Engineer (Substation Design) at HDR, you will be part of a growing team working on complex and responsible projects. You will have developed foundational expertise in high voltage substation design and will be ready to undertake a more complex and independent role. Your work will encompass physical substation design, protection and control design, and project management.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include understanding physical substation design, preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring that schedules and budgets are met. You will also prepare calculations for studies and reports, review project documents, write and edit project specifications, and coordinate the work of the power design team.

Requirements
- Masters degree in Engineering
- California Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- A minimum of 3 years experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Specific experience performing aspects associated with substation design
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software
