Role Overview

The Power Systems Electrical Field Technician will support the engineering team by collecting accurate field data required for power system studies and electrical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working around energized electrical equipment and has practical experience safely accessing low and medium voltage electrical equipment while following all applicable electrical safety procedures.

What You Will Do

Perform detailed field surveys of electrical distribution systems, collect equipment information, document existing electrical distribution systems, and support engineers responsible for arc flash, short circuit, protective device coordination, power quality, and electrical design projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent field experience
  • 5+ years working on industrial or commercial electrical power systems
  • Experience working with Medium Voltage Switchgear, Low Voltage Switchgear, MCCs, Panelboards, Transformers, and Protective Relays
  • Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and identify electrical equipment in the field
  • Working knowledge of the NEC
  • Strong computer skills
