Role Overview

Join Kimley-Horn's Power Delivery team in Tampa, FL, as a Power Systems Engineer in Training. With a focus on serving clients in the power delivery and energy sectors, you'll act as a technical expert in power systems analysis. This is an in-office position.

What You Will Do

Support the power electrical team in analyzing systems, creating software models, and writing reports for various projects. You'll perform studies such as Load Flow/Reactive Power Analysis, Arc Flash/Short Circuit/Coordination studies, and Transient studies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as an Electrical Engineer for an engineering firm or EPC
  • PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, WinIGS, or CDEGS experience preferred
  • Understanding or willing to learn, the NEC 2020 and IEEE standards and keep up with emerging technologies
  • General understanding of engineering and energy systems
  • Load Flow, Coordination, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash studies basic theory and methodology
  • Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • PE certification or path to move towards certification is preferred
