Role Overview

The PR & Content Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and management of public relations and content marketing activities for CU Direct and its brands. This individual ensures that all PR and communication activities support corporate and thought leader initiatives and are in alignment with the annual marketing plan.

What You Will Do

Develop a media relations strategy, plan and execute public relations initiatives, build and maintain media relationships, create press releases, and monitor and report performance data for all PR activities. Work closely with marketing team to develop a content strategy, plan and execute content initiatives, and manage a content calendar. Repurpose content for social media and blog, and work with digital marketing writer to monitor social media and online conversations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of public relations experience, 3-4 years of experience writing digital content, and a B.A. degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or Communications. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of public relations and corporate communications, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead creation of regular publications.

Requirements

  • B.A. degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or Communications
  • 5+ years public relations experience
  • 3-4 years experience writing digital content for a large agency
  • In-depth knowledge of public relations and corporate communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead creation of regular publications
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with media and gain media attention through those relationships
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and meet deadlines with strong project management skills
  • Ability to develop written content across multiple mediums
  • Successful media-pitching skills
  • Excellent copyediting, proofreading, and grammar skills
  • Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, WordPress, Google Analytics, and Hootsuite digital platforms
