Job Description
Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays for English learner students in Dual Language, ESL and Sheltered classrooms, provide support to English learner students and families/guardians with diverse language needs, and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus Associate degree, or 48 credit hours
  • Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups
  • Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
  • Knowledge of district organizations, operations, and administrative policies preferred
  • Bilingual (English/another language) preferred
