Role OverviewThe Pre-K General Education Co-Teacher will work in a supportive UPK classroom with a clear curriculum structure and strong district alignment. The role involves teaching four-year-olds at a pivotal developmental stage, where growth in early literacy, social-emotional skills, and independence is rapid and rewarding. The co-teacher will work closely with a team, including a co-teacher, paraprofessionals, and related service providers, to provide high-quality early learning and strong community impact.
What You Will Do
The co-teacher will implement the Creative Curriculum, Foundations, and Heggerty with fidelity, and participate in all required district training. They will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, inclusive instruction aligned with NYS Early Learning Standards, and support early literacy, numeracy, language development, and social-emotional learning through play-based, child-centered instruction.

Requirements
- Valid NYS Early Childhood Teaching Certification (Birth–2, N–6, or Pre-K–6), or a Bachelor’s degree with an approved 5-Year Plan
- Special Education Certification preferred for teaching in a Special Class in an Integrated Setting
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience working with preschool-age children in inclusive or integrated settings
- Experience supporting multilingual learners preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a co-teaching team
