Role Overview

The Pre-Vocational Counselor provides direct services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the Day Treatment Program. This position provides psychosocial skill-building groups and activities, monitors client wellbeing, develops program plans, and supports clients in building skills for greater independence.

What You Will Do

Create and facilitate psychosocial skill-building groups, monitor and assess client behavior and wellbeing, develop treatment and program plans for clients, and supervise clients during program activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences, with intermediate-level ability to assess client behaviors and recommend appropriate interventions, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with treatment, residential, and case management teams.

  • Ability to assess client behaviors and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Ability to communicate client and program concerns accurately and in a timely manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Ability to use Zoom
  • Valid Florida driver's license and ability to be insured
