Job Description
This role is for a Preconstruction Director in San Jose responsible for managing the preconstruction process for all projects, from design-build to complete reconstruction. The position involves interviews, preparation of bid responses, budget control, contract review, and liaison with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams. The Director will also be responsible for overseeing risk management and contract adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and/or 10+ years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience.
  • Experience managing preconstruction for large scale projects with emphasis on highly complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
  • Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work.
  • Experience leading successful team ventures, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities and subcontractor community.
  • Self-starter. Highly motivated to bring results and successfully lead projects.
