Role Overview

The Preconstruction Engineer will participate in all aspects of the bid/estimating process, including reviewing plans and specs, soliciting and negotiating prices with subcontractors/suppliers, quantity take-off, pricing, scoping, and bidding of construction projects. This role is highly collaborative and will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, owners, architects, and engineers.

What You Will Do

The Preconstruction Engineer will perform quantity take-offs, assist in pricing and bidding of construction projects, communicate with architects and consultants, conduct reviews of milestone documents, and actively participate in the internal estimate review process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major
  • Basic knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Assemble, Revit, and Bluebeam or related software
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
