Job Description

As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating a press, setting equipment guides, inspecting product, and measuring dimensions of completed products. The successful candidate will be safety-focused and detail-oriented.

Requirements

Reconcile coil identity to production and load coil
Check and record gauge, width, hardness, camber, burr, and surface requirement and ensure compliance with customer and production requirements
Thread coil thru leveler/flattener, feed unit
Setup dies in the press with the part and scrap chutes/conveyors
Setup the press/levelers/flattener to the proper program or required parameters
Make minor adjustments to the press/dies/conveyors to produce product at a reasonable rate
Run coil at maximum rate that will produce complying product
Monitor strip condition to ensure compliance with customer requirements and production instructions
Setup skids on the parts conveyors to ensure no disruption of production
Remove scrap from press as necessary, empty hoppers
Clean machine and entire area
Convey customer specific packaging specifications
Communicate non-compliance or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead
